Another week, another win! Willen were our toughest opposition yet and the lads came through with flying colours again winning 5-2. Great closing down and defending in forward positions which makes it very difficult for any team to counter attack especially when this is backed up by a tight defensive line....it was great to watch.
Well played, especially Brooksey (captain for the game) up front who was a real nuisance to the Willen defenders and keeper, a great volley into the top corner set the tone. Alfie had a fantastic performance in central defence mopping up the last man.
Man of the match was Harry who had an awesome game in every department, tackling/positional play/passing, not to mention a couple of great goals...well played Harry!
Next Saturday 9th October, we have been invited to Leon School in Bletchley by Leicester City FC to play in their Festival Of Football. The event has been organised as a scouting opportunity and players chosen will be invited to play at the Leicester academy in MK, any player chosen is encouraged to remain at his current club. This is another chance for us to play 2 hours of football against various other teams alongside some professional coaching and advice from the Leicester City set up.
I am trying to get hold of the Mini Bus for the tournament, I'll let you know later in the week. The tournament starts at 10:30 and finishes at 12:30, I suggest we meet in the Leon School car park at 10:00am or 9:15 at the Rugby Club if we can get the Mini Bus.
This is a tournament for the whole squad and no players are rested.
Hope to see you all on Thursday at 5:30 for training.
